In order to be eligible for the position, you must pass the police officer training academy, which is usually held at the Police Academy at the West Point Military Academy. At the academy, you will learn all about how to take care of yourself as well as the different positions that you will have within the police department, from patrol officer to detective t o SWAT team member.Finally, you can choose to join the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, or you can join the National Law Enforcement Associates, or LEAA, if you would like to make it as a police officer with a large agency. There are even organizations to help train those who have chosen this career path, so make sure you're taking all the information you can get about this field to help you with your application. It will really help if you have completed at least one year of college, whether it's in the past or in the future.There are many benefits to becoming a police officer, and in many ways it is the most rewarding career option out there.
